Desmond brings about 16 years of experience in digital media and journalism in both the public and private sector. As the Senior Assistant Director (Digital and Marketing Communications) at the Singapore Prison Service (SPS), Desmond works with SPS’s appointed vendor – That Marketing Guy, to lead the conceptualisation and implementation of the digital and marketing strategies for SPS and the Yellow Ribbon Project, creating impactful narratives that foster public trust, engagement and support.<\/p>\n

After graduating with a bachelor\u2019s degree in professional communications from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in 2008, Desmond started his media career as a radio journalist with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation before he joined CNBC Asia as a News Assistant and subsequently Reuters\u2019 Pictures Desk as a sub-editor. With a professional background rooted in journalism and media, Ang joined the Ministry of Home Affairs’ Community Partnership and Communications Group in 2016 where he specialised in internal communications and community outreach, before he joined SPS in 2021.<\/p>\n
